Beaudin Flute
My modern traverso uses an innovative design that preserves the spirit, tonal characteristics and fingerings of 18th-century flutes while offering more power.
The design is based on extensive research into flute design and has been influenced by:
- Flutes by Quantz for the tuning
- Flutes by Rippert and Bressan for the 3 joint structure (head, middle and foot)
- South Indian (Carnatic) bamboo flutes and flutes by Boehm (19th-century) for the bore (cylindrical body and conical head joint)
- Ganassi recorder by Frederick Morgan
A Beaudin flute is ideal for playing any Early Music repertoire and some more recent music in a 21st-century context.
